Privacy Policy

At Alephi we take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and how you can exercise your rights. We comply with Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 and follow the spirit of COPPA for children under 13.

Data controller

Alephi (company being incorporated in Colombia) is the controller for the personal data described in this policy. For any concern, reach us at privacidad@alephi.app.

Data we collect

From the child

• Name and age (provided by the parent).
• Temporary audio during the session. The child's audio is processed in memory and is NOT stored after processing.
• Interactions with the AI (questions, answers, learning progress).

From the parent

• Email and full name.
• Children linked to the account.
• Subscription plan (when available).

Sub-processors

Alephi relies on infrastructure providers with signed Data Processing Agreements (DPA). These sub-processors are:

• Google Cloud Platform — Vertex AI, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Run (hosting, database, and AI models).
• Firebase — parent account authentication.

We don't use analytics, advertising, or external tracking sub-processors.

Your rights

As the data subject (or legal guardian of the child), you have the following rights:

• Access the data we hold about your family.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your data when you ask us to.
• Receive your data in a portable, readable format.
• Object to specific processing.
• Withdraw the consent you've granted.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacidad@alephi.app. We'll respond within fifteen business days at most.

Retention period

• Parent account: while the account is active. When you delete it, data is erased within thirty days at most.
• Child audio: zero days. The audio is never stored; it's processed in memory and discarded immediately.
• Session transcripts: ninety days, to improve pedagogical quality. After that they're automatically deleted.
• Child's academic data (progress, areas of interest): kept as long as the parent wishes, and deleted whenever they request it.

Cookies

We only use functional cookies necessary to keep the parent's session active (Firebase Auth). We don't use third-party analytics cookies, advertising, or cross-site tracking. You can read more in our Cookie Policy.

Minors

Alephi is designed for children ages 5 to 14, but consent is always granted by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18. Children cannot create accounts directly on the platform. The parent is the one who accepts this policy, creates the child's profile, and authorizes use of the service.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll let you know by email at least thirty days in advance and update the date at the bottom of this page.
